The History of
O誰eil Color
O誰eil
Color & Compounding was originally founded in 1957 in New York as Frank
V. O誰eil Color. Mr. O誰eil grew the company at a time when plastics were just
becoming commercialized. He relocated several times due to the growth of the
custom colorants market, with his final plant being located in Paterson, NJ,
just west of New York City.
The
Paterson facility was purchased by Primex Plastics Corporation (www.primexplastics.com)
in 1988 to serve their colorant needs in the rapidly expanding sheet extrusion
market, in addition to continuing the growth of it痴 external color concentrate
business. Primex acquired a second manufacturing plant in Jasper, Tennessee, 20
miles northwest of Chattanooga, in 1993.
Since
1993, O誰eil Color & Compounding has added production equipment that now totals
19 advanced lines including single screw, twin screw and continuous feed
mixers. The Jasper plant is ISO 9001 certified and both plants have the latest
computer and software programs for exacting color production. In addition,
O誰eil, as a member of the privately-owned ICC Industries (www.iccindustries.com)
family of companies, is a partner in the New Product Development Center located
in Richmond, Indiana. With a comprehensive array of analytical testing
equipment, including access to a scanning electron microscope (SEM), the NPDC
provides our customers with exceptional analytical services and an unbiased
approach to the development of new materials.
The
Compounding Division of O誰eil Color & Compounding currently produces high
performance custom compounds across all resin systems including flame retardant,
anti-stat, ESD, structural, wear resistant and TPE materials for injection,
extrusion, blow molding and rotational molding applications. In addition,
O誰eil is a leader in single-pack, pelletized additive concentrates for
anti-stat, anti-block, fungicidal, flame retardant, UV and surface enhancement
applications.
O誰eil痴 continued growth is
a direct result of our commitment to quality, lot-to-lot consistency, quick-turn
manufacturing and a management, sales and customer service team that is focused
on total customer satisfaction. |
